Also known as Ashiatsu, this is a Swedish based oil massage, done on a table. The practitioner uses an overhead support system to control her bodyweight and massages the client with her feet. The soft surfaces of the foot contour comfortably to the body allowing the therapist to deliver powerful, effective treatments that make the deep work more relaxing for the client. Slow, gliding effleurage is combined with deep compression, cross fiber and acupressure techniques. Bars attached to the ceiling over the table provide balance and allow the therapist complete control of pressure and working from all angles.

Deep tissue massage relieves chronic tension and toxins from the body. This technique is effective for relieving pain from deeply held muscle tension such as back pain, chronic pain, sciatic pain, etc. Deep Tissue is different from Swedish Deep Tissue Massage in that the therapist does not use oil or lotion and works very slowly. The therapist works deeply in such a way as to encourage the body not to react defensively and the treatment is kept within the comfort range of the client. The purpose is to “un-stick” the fibers of a muscle while releasing deeply held patterns of tension, removing toxins, relaxing, soothing and thereby re-educating the muscle to operate in full capacity.

Thai massage has been called the lazy man’s yoga. But it so much more than just stretching. Through this sophisticated sequence of deep rhythmic acupressure to muscles during assisted stretches and yoga-like postures, this integrated approach stimulates the body’s natural healing ability by unblocking the flow, resulting in a deep sense of calm and relaxation. Thai Sports massage can target a particular region in the body where knots are formed or where it is injured. This type of massage is commonly done on athletes and sportsmen for better flexibility, stress relief (both physical and mental), and for treating stiffness, aches and pains. Table Sports Thai has taken the ancient styles and adapted it to be performed on a standard massage table.

Reiki is an age old technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by “laying on hands” and is based on the idea that an unseen “life force energy” flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one’s “life force energy” is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy. Reiki can be added on to any other style of massage or can be a complete treatment.
